Our pool has never looked better. For years we have had a pool cleaning company, and I always wanted to get rid of them for doing as little as possible. But with David and his team, they take the time to really clean the pool, no more in and out in 10 minutes like other companies. Great job and thank you, David and team!

Plenty of companies offer this service but we’ve never seen anyone do it with the passion and ownership David brings. David cares for our pool as if his family was going to swim in it daily! From our first interaction I felt like my needs and service were and are a priority to him! He’s knowledgeable and honest! We couldn’t be happier with his service! Fire the other guy now and choose My Pool Helper!

David arrived as scheduled to replace the filter tank. He did a great job at a reasonable price. Would certainly recommend!

We ❤️ My Pool Helper. Been using them for a month and our pool has never looked this good. He doesn’t just add chemicals and leave. He does it all and our pool is sparkling clean when he’s done! So glad we found him.

Everything your weekly visit includes

Weekly vs. chemical only

Why weekly maintenance is best

Your pool is a major investment. Weekly service ensures debris is removed before it creates problems, chemicals stay balanced, and equipment issues are caught early before becoming expensive repairs. Consistent weekly maintenance is widely considered the industry standard in North Texas due to heat, storms, pollen, and rapid algae growth.

We offer two weekly plans — full service and chemical-only. Full service includes brushing, skimming, and vacuuming along with balanced water chemistry every visit. Chemical-only keeps your chemistry in range but does not include brushing or skimming — and chemicals alone cannot stop algae. Without regular brushing, even a balanced pool can turn green fast in the North Texas heat, which is why we recommend full weekly service for nearly every pool.

Algae can take over a pool in days

In the North Texas heat, a pool can go from crystal clear to green in as little as 24–48 hours. Chemicals slow algae down, but they don’t physically remove it — weekly brushing is what lifts algae off the walls, steps, and floor before it can bloom. That’s why a chemical-only pool can still turn green between visits if it isn’t brushed, and why we recommend full weekly service to protect your water, your plaster, and your equipment.

What it costs

David, owner and Certified Pool Operator at My Pool Helper, by a backyard pool in Denton County, Texas

Meet David, your local pool pro

My Pool Helper is owner-operated by David. He learned pool care from the ground up in a family that has spent more than 30 years in the business, and built My Pool Helper on three rules he won’t bend on: show up every time, tell you the truth (no upsells), and sweat the small stuff — right down to a written water report after every visit.

David is a Certified Pool Operator (CPO), licensed and insured in Texas — so your home and your pool are in qualified hands.

We know Denton County pools inside and out

My Pool Helper is owner-operated and based right here in Denton County, so your pool is cared for around the realities of North Texas — not a generic checklist. Our tap water is classified “very hard” (about 15 grains per gallon, drawn from the Trinity Aquifer and Lewisville Lake), which scales tile, plaster, and salt cells fast. We check calcium hardness on every visit and balance for it, so the local water never quietly wears down your pool.

North Texas weather is just as demanding. Summers top 100°F and intense UV burns off chlorine and stabilizer within days — the reason weekly service beats bi-weekly here, and why we tune cyanuric acid and sanitizer for our exact climate. Then winter flips the script: a sudden hard freeze (like February 2021) can crack pumps, filters, and lines overnight. From Denton and Flower Mound to Argyle, Highland Village, and Lantana, it’s the local know-how that keeps pools clear all year.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know

Weekly. Chemicals need to be tested and balanced every week to protect your equipment, plaster, and tile. If you’d rather handle the cleaning yourself, we offer a chemicals-only service — but it’s still weekly. We don’t offer bi-weekly because the math doesn’t work in Texas heat.

Skimming and brushing, vacuuming as needed, emptying skimmer and pump baskets, full water chemistry test and balance, equipment inspection, and a digital service report after every visit.

Yes. My Pool Helper is owner-operated, so the same familiar face services your pool on the same day each week — no rotating crews, no subcontractors, and no long-term contract.

We offer a chemicals-only plan: you handle the skimming and vacuuming, and we test and balance your water every week. It’s still weekly — the chemistry is what protects your plaster, tile, and equipment.
